An accomplished and entrepreneurial leader with a strong legal background, Terry Bartz has extensive experience re-engineering organizations for optimal performance and value. After several years as a successful business and litigation attorney, Bartz moved into business management, operations and business consulting, gaining experience in business strategy, investor relations, securing private investments, business expansion, marketing communications and overall turnaround facilitation.

Bartz has experience helping companies restructure and optimize operations in a wide variety of industries — including information technology, telecommunications including contact centers, software, human resource outsourcing, real estate development and commercial construction.

Before joining the MorrisAnderson team, Bartz acted as the chief operating officer at a leading provider of outsourced HR services. Originally brought on to diagnose and correct operational challenges within the company, Bartz was named executive vice president of operations and eventually COO after he implemented changes that improved company morale, client satisfaction and client retention. In these roles, he became a critical member of senior management, helping the company develop strategic initiatives and measure their success. Bartz led initiatives to improve internal and client communications, created and installed a comprehensive contract process to better manage client relationships, and oversaw the restructuring of the company’s Canadian operations.

Previously, Bartz was a consultant for a number of companies that were seeking to manage or establish a high-growth environment or implement turnarounds and restructurings. In this role, Bartz provided interim senior management and general corporate counsel for clients in the information technology, telecommunications, real estate development and commercial general construction sectors.

In a previous position as COO, general counsel and secretary of software company PurchaseSoft Inc., Bartz was charged with shutting down company operations. He conducted an orderly wind-down of operations, successfully negotiating with all of the company’s creditors to avoid bankruptcy and ultimately deliver a clean public shell to the company’s principal investors.

Bartz has a bachelor’s degree in business from Gustavus Adolphus College and a law degree from Hamline University School of Law, where he graduated cum laude.
